Grace... Maria... Catherine

Kelly ... von Trapp ... Duchess of Cambridge. favorite weddings of all time.

Maybe I just watched the entire processional (okay, twice more) and am sobbing sobbing sobbing real, huge, pathetic (?) tears.
(think Bob Wiley watching the Brady Bunch in the opening of What About Bob. yeah.)

When Wills tells her she looks beautiful. Sobbing some more...

Turned on the tv not 20 seconds before the boys proceeded out of Clarence House in the car. Royal timing agrees with me.

My mom can back me up that I have nothing planned out for my future wedding save that I told her about two years ago that:
- I want to wear her gown, which is also all lace, with sheer full-length lace sleeves and a plunging neckline.
- I want my bridesmaids to be only my sisters wearing white cap sleeved dresses.

(The only detail I've now added is that my mom will wear Carole Middleton's exact outfit. Perfection.... And perhaps a hat policy.)

The Aston Martin drive WAS. AWESOME.

Harry was ridiculous. Love him. Chelsy Davy is still so trashy to me, haha.

Grace van Cutsem is a blog meme. Amazing.

My friends Paul and Brittany (The House that Lars Built) made Vogue UK, CNN, Telegraph. 'Silly' - their words.

Laugh at me all you want, I loved it all.

For my main man who has everything

Turns out I love gifting, but it's hard to gift people who don't need anything. My dad was an architect and real estate developer, and Frank Lloyd Wright one of his favorites.

On a trip to the Gugg a month or so ago, I spotted and sent him a set of these bowls. He loves them.

PS: I love sending postcards too!
if you'd like one from NYC, send me your address!

The ogle without the slouch

A little promotion for my favorite tumblr as of late

(besides Kate Middleton For The Win, of course) ...

because it's like having a little museum (lately they've been on a modern streak) right in your Reader.

It takes out the worst element of museum-going, namely the slow walking & standing part which makes one lightheaded and starving after 2 hours (or maybe just 1, lets be honest haha) even though you haven't done anything but shift your weight from hip to hip, slouching to keep standing interesting.

Blinky Palermo via here.

What are some of your favorite art blogs?

Have a vibrant weekend!

Random crunch

I've been told I have a knack for putting people at ease in situations, and so in this city of neurotic, I find myself more often pursuing and promoting mellow.
This was particularly brought to my attention the other weekend when I spent some time with new friends visiting from LA...I was so taken aback by how low key they were but quickly realized, "Oh yeah, I haven't hung out with any Californians in a while." Haha!

I have done yoga on and off for maybe 8 years, but I've really gotten into it here. All the Eastern spirituality...the ancient art form that it is... it brings me back to the beach culture I grew up around. It really is the only form of 'exercise' that brings my 200 mph mind to a complete meditation. It's like a boyfriend. We're pretty serious...If I miss 2 days, I really do feel out of sync.

ENTER my (ever so small) hipster streak as I annoyingly implore you to listen to this.

I don't even like the original version of 'Fast Car' ... some 90s one hit wonder, no? Kind of like this song I remember making fun of my brother for liking ("phat like Cindy Crawford" etc) as my family roadtripped up the California coast at the turn of 2000.

Speaking of the California coast... of course, since I am always planning 8 steps ahead, I wouldn't be surprised if I 'end up' in northern California ... The few times I have visited I really took to the variety of offerings: urban, beachy, forest-y, hippie, yuppie, with good weather (it's been a long winter here, can you tell?)... all stirred into a progressive pot of diversity.

I've also really liked everyone I've met from there - all well-rounded, well-adjusted and level-headed.

Now it is blogged. Coded in HTML (stronger than the pen?) SO we shall see.

Enough oversharing for one day ... Oh, yeah:

Textbook Anglo junky

I'm really obsessed with the Royal Wedding. Like, really really.

When you consider that Prince William was my generation's heartthrob, I find it pretty normal behaviour to:
- watch every TV special
- get Google Alerts sent to my phone
- share articles about it via many forms of social media, and
- rush out for the Warhol-esque Tatler of Kate at Universal News ("Her Majesty is here," they said, showing me where it was. They recognized me for trying to find it two days in a row... HAHA).

I even spoke with the producer of this a couple times but didn't make the cut. Ok, kinda embarrassing...

However, come April 29, I plan to make like Liz Lemon and consume endless amounts of tea & crumpets on my own couch. I'm on the lookout for a Slanket with an image of Will & Kate emblazoned on it...

I cannot wait.
